Digging Guide

Tingle’s Rosy Rupeeland Digging Guide

This guide will show you what you can dig up and where you can dig it up. Note that Rupees can be found everywhere, and as such are not listed under common items.

First Continent

Hometown Prairie

Common items: None

The hometown prairie is the first area of the game. As such, there’s not a great deal to be found, here. Tingle can’t dig up any items besides Rupees, but there is one small patch of ground which conceals a secret hole. This is found on the hill north of Tingle’s house. Inside, Tingle will find a chest with a Rupee Good.

Sunshine Seashore

Common items: Ancient Coin, Thin Beard

Sunshine Seashore has quite a bit to discover. Tingle can dig around in the sand for ancient coins, which can be sold to Chiko’s Mum for 50 Rupees apiece. Thin Beards can be found in the northeastern half of the area, and they can also be sold to Chiko’s Mum. In addition to this, there is a secret hole on the east side of the beach, directly south of the bodyguard salon. This hole contains a recipe.

Cape Treasure

Common items: Marine Gem, Thin Beard, Large Shell, Sharp Shell

There’s plenty of different things to dip up in Cape Treasure. The main item is the thin beard, which can be found on the screen with the bridge to Sunshine Seashore. In addition, large shells can be dug up on the screen with the crisp tomatoes and the sunbathing woman. There’s also a treasure chest hidden near the place where Tingle first saw Barkle. It’s on the left side directly south of where Barkle was first encountered. Marine Gems can be dug up on the screen with the pirate docks, and sharp shells can be dug up immediately outside of the pirates’ hideout (the dungeon.)

Lon Lon Meadow

Common items: Sweet Potato

This area has plenty of sweet potatoes to dig up, but nothing else (other than a secret hole in the northern section.) Dig anywhere you find the soft soil and you’ll soon have more sweet potatoes than you know what to do with!

Deku Forest

Common items: Twisted Horn, Gelatine, Explosive Claws, Amethyst,

Lots of different items here! For starters, the twisted horns can be dug up near the cherry tree family, underneath all the sheep. The amethysts can be found near the deku orb (but they’re a little less common than other items.) Gelatine is found near the Lon Lon Meadow bridge (underneath the gel monsters.) Lastly, the explosive claws are found directly outside of the Deku Tree’s little “garden.” VERY helpful when you need to make Tingle Bombs but you don’t want to fight a lot of Turkeys/Catfish!

Second Continent

The Second Continent is full of Triangle Chips, which are used to play Madame Scratchcard’s game. These can be found on every island/area, and are not listed under common items because of this.

Steamy Marsh

Common items:

Gooey Swamp

Common items: Marine Gem, Amethyst, Soft Egg

The marine gems can be found on the top left screen, while the amethysts can be found on the top middle screen, as well as the soft eggs. Look near the frill flower for the soft eggs, and south of it for the amethysts.

Icy Plain

Common items: Snow Dust, Downy Feathers, Sapphire

Downy Feathers are found in the first area you appear in (when you come here from the Tower.) Just dig anywhere to find them. Snow Dust is found towards the frozen lake (the one enveloped in a blizzard.) There are several areas which contain them. Also, one area found on the other side of the frozen lake contains one of the pirates’ blue chests. Don’t forget to dig it up and collect the treasure! Lastly, the sapphires can be dug up at the entrance to the graveyard, but not on any screens with the ice ghosts. Those screens just hold triangle chips and green rupees.

Third Continent

The Third and final continent contains powerful enemies and valuable treasures. On this continent, Tingle will find Super Chips instead of Triangle Chips, which allow him to play a game from Madame Scratchcard which is worth more Rupees than before! Like the Triangle Chip, these are everywhere, so they aren’t listed under Common Items.

Mount Desma
