What the heck is Freshly-Picked Tingle’s Rosy Rupeeland?!
Freshly-Picked Tingle’s Rosy Rupeeland is a game for the Nintendo DS that was released in Japan in 2006, and in Europe in 2007. Due to the inaccurate rumors of Tingle’s unpopularity, the game never made it stateside. There was an unscientific poll on Nintendo’s website asking gamers whether they wanted to see this title released in North America, and although close, the ‘No’s won. Although it’s unlikely that this poll was what determined the final outcome, it probably set the game’s future in stone.
Tingle’s Rosy Rupeeland is unique to the Zelda series, if it’s even accurate to pair it with The Legend of Zelda. The player assumes the role of Tingle, shortly before he actually becomes ‘Tingle’. The game entirely revolves around the usage of Rupees, which play role of both currency and health. The game has scored relatively high reviews, but very few exist as the game never made it to North America, and is somewhat obscure in Europe.
