The Legend of Zelda: The Minish Cap is the only exclusive game in the series for the GameBoy Advanced, other than the Four Swords mini-game. It was released in North America in early 2005, shortly after the release of the Nintendo DS system. Although the game received incredibly high reviews, earning the highest possible ratings from Electronic Gaming Monthly and X-Play, and the game of the year award from GameSpot and Gamespy, the game had mediocre sales. This was due to the fact that it was not released in North America until after the holiday season, plus the fact that at its release, the Nintendo DS was in full-swing, and GBA game sales were already declining.
The Minish Cap is unique in that it offers players the chance to view Hyrule as the tiny Minish folk do. Link is frequently shrunken down to the size of a bug, where he is able to reach new areas -and even dungeons- due to his reduced height. This inch-high adventure is one of the best games the Zelda series has to offer, and you’re missing out if you don’t play it.
