Well, the live feed fell through, but we’ll be adding to this post as news comes in about Nintendo’s top products! Keep refreshing for updates!

  • The New Zelda Title is to be named “The Skyward Sword”.
  • The Game will largely focus on the Sword and Shield mechanics, using the Wii MotionPlus.
  • The Items seen so far include, bombs, the slingshot, the bow and arrow,  the whip, and finally, a new item, the “Beetle”.
  • Bombs can be placed, thrown and rolled.
  • The “Beetle” can be thrown around and flown in order to pick up items, etc.
  • The Whip can be used to cut grass and stun enemies. It’s movement is very dependent on the player’s motions.

Skyward Sword logoThe demo is going to be on the show floor, where E3 attendees can play it. The game won’t be released in America until next year.

Nintendo 3DS LogoThe Nintendo 3DS was just announced. The system will be fully 3D, and will not require any glasses! It will also have both a motion sensor, as well as a gyro sensor. It’s also going to allow you to take 3D photos, and has two camera lenses on the outer shell, as opposed to the DSi’s one. It will have support for 3D movies. Hello, homebrew! Train your own Dragon, Disney’s Tangled, as well as a few other movies have officially been announced for the 3DS.

Kid Icarus: Uprising appears to be one of the games that will be released along with the Nintendo 3DS. Nintendogs will also be making an appearance.

Some of the companies that plan on releasing third party games for the 3DS are Activision, THQ, Square Enix, Capcom, Warner Bros, EA, SEGA, Namco, Konami and several more.

E3 2010 LogoJust a quick reminder to all of you who haven’t been paying attention; E3 is coming in less than a week. As some of you may have heard, Nintendo will thankfully be streaming live coverage of the event, so that you can be the first to know (along with all of the other “first-to-knows”) about this year’s upcoming games. Although we decided that Zelda in my Pocket will not be attending by sending a representative, you can expect to see all sorts of immediate news updates, as well as the video stream (if possible) right here on our home page. That’s right… just keep on refreshing!

What we know so far is that Nintendo will be announcing quite a bit of information regarding Zelda Wii. It’s been stated that they’ll reveal the title, release date and other critical information. I expect to see a video, if not even a playable demo. Of course, that would be assuming that they’re as far along in development as rumor has, and as they claim.

We’ll also probably end up with a slew of info regarding the Nintendo 3DS, though we can’t be sure about that. And though it’s not too likely, let’s just say that I wouldn’t be shocked if we heard something about a new Zelda handheld, as well… You know; Nintendo always likes to release titles that they know will be popular along with a system release (i.e. Twilight Princess with the Wii, etc.).

Zelda Wii: The Prophet of LightThe Legend of Zelda: The Prophet of Light LogoWell, it seems as though we may know the title for the upcoming Zelda Wii game. Our friends over at Zelda Informer have just made a nice, little news post in which the name ‘The Legend of Zelda: The Prophet of Light‘ was announced. We can’t confirm that this is true, but it seems to be quite likely, as we’re so close to E3. My guess is that Nintendo intentionally leaked it, in order to build up the hype for the upcoming conference.

Regardless of whether or not this is the correct title, Nintendo has done a very nice job of keeping any unwanted information from surfacing so far. Let’s keep looking forward to the upcoming (and likely historic) E3 event.

Zelda Wii release dateAn interesting tidbit to accompany yesterday’s post confirming the announcement of the release date, I thought some would be interested to hear that almost 2 months ago, there was a report of a possible outing of the release date coming from a leaked image of Gamestop’s internal listing of games to come in the latter part of the year. The list includes several other games that all have correct release dates, and the date listed for Zelda Wii is November 1, 2010. I would suggest taking this with a grain of salt as nothing is certain until we get an official account from Nintendo at E3 here in a matter of weeks, but this is an interesting and intriguing article and picture I thought some of you would be interested to see. If this is true, I know where I’ll be at the stroke of midnight on Halloween night this year: my local Wal-Mart!

That’s right, apparently Nintendo is set to reveal the release date of the much-anticipated new game, which will also be released with MotionPlus controls. This revelation likely means that after E3, fans will finally have a number in mind for how much longer the community will have to wait for what promises to be an excellent new adventure in the series. It appears our days of waiting have been numbered by Nintendo. More to come on this topic as it develops.
