Link's Awakening ArtworkWoohoo! We have some great news; The Legend of Zelda: Link’s Awakening DX is to be released on the Nintendo 3DS’s Virtual Console. IN 3D. Yes, that’s right; you’ll soon be playing one of the greatest Legend of Zelda games in a 3-Dimensional world. In only five months, actually. Which leads us to some more news:

We’ve just now found out that the Nintendo 3DS will be released in North America this March. No specific date has been announced yet, but we do know just how close it is until we can play that sucker!

Now there are two thoughts that come into my mind. The first one is “how will they handle the printable photographs?”. I can see a lot coming from this, seeing as you can even take 3D photos on your 3DS. Will they bring back the GameBoy Printer? Probably not, but I imagine that Nintendo has something special in store for our little mouse photographer and his Link’s photo album. The second thought is a little more obvious; when will we see the Oracle Series and The Minish Cap? And let’s not leave it there: If they can make those games 3-Dimensional, they can do that with The Legend of Zelda, the Adventure of Link and A Link to the Past.

Boy, am I ever excited!

Just a general update regarding a few pieces of news from around the block. First off is…

Minish

The Minish Cap guide has been updated, and now takes you through the third dungeon. Have fun with that, and be sure to thank Michael! You can view it on The Minish Cap Guide page. Next up, we have…

Ganon, Mean as EverManga

As many sites around the community have been boasting about, the “original” Legend of Zelda manga has finally been translated into English. Overall, it’s one of the better mangas, at least in our opinion. It goes quite deep into the theme of the original Logend of Zelda game, but it also deviates from the plotline quite a bit. That could be a plus or minus, depending on where you stand on the canon. Either way, I nabbed and colorized an awesome piece of  art from it, seen to the right. You can check out the site it’s hosted on (called BerriBlue) here. And still more news is…

Kakashi

Though not ready yet, we’ve made good headway on the demo engine. Keep in mind that when our release comes, you won’t see much; the engine is essentially the core of the game, involving the character’s coding, movement, etc. The rest wiull start to come along soon once we get over this hump. Once again, we apologize for the wait, but know that we’ve been very busy. Though it’s unlaunched, I can tell you all that we’re working on a seperate website to specifically cover the game. More news soon! And finally, we have the…

Pegasus Boots

Pegasus Boots

To cut to the chase, our site’s been growing in both traffic and size. Unfortunately, this has resulted in a longer load time added to our already long load time. So after a few cuts (we promise you won’t know the difference!), we’ve been able to reduce our load time by an average of about 40%! Overall, we’re quite excited about this, as it makes the world a more friendly place! In the future we hope to cut down the load times even more. Thanks for checking us out!

Ocarina of Time for the 3DS image 6After quite a few debates for the last 18 or so hours, we can finally announce that it’s official; There will be an Ocarina of Time remake for the 3DS. To the right, you’ll see the final image which we’ve uncovered (though none of these pics are really “special secrets” anymore). However, we must let some of the hopes dwindle a bit; It’s not confirmed that it will be the full version of “Ocarina of Time”. Nintendo is still playing around with it, and using it to test the functionality of the system.

According to Kotaku, Ocarina of Time 3D is “like a few other 3DS titles shown off so far is merely a tech demo for the new hardware”. However, it sound like the head honchos at the big “N” are so desiring to have this full game on the NIntendo 3DS, so maybe it will come true. You can view the official news on Nintendo’s E3 site. Once there, click on “Nintendo Titles”.

We hope that you’re still excited, as we sure are. Also, as a side-note, if Ocarina of Time does make it to the 3DS, we’ll be covering the game right here, at Zelda in my Pocket.

E3 2010 LogoJust a quick reminder to all of you who haven’t been paying attention; E3 is coming in less than a week. As some of you may have heard, Nintendo will thankfully be streaming live coverage of the event, so that you can be the first to know (along with all of the other “first-to-knows”) about this year’s upcoming games. Although we decided that Zelda in my Pocket will not be attending by sending a representative, you can expect to see all sorts of immediate news updates, as well as the video stream (if possible) right here on our home page. That’s right… just keep on refreshing!

What we know so far is that Nintendo will be announcing quite a bit of information regarding Zelda Wii. It’s been stated that they’ll reveal the title, release date and other critical information. I expect to see a video, if not even a playable demo. Of course, that would be assuming that they’re as far along in development as rumor has, and as they claim.

We’ll also probably end up with a slew of info regarding the Nintendo 3DS, though we can’t be sure about that. And though it’s not too likely, let’s just say that I wouldn’t be shocked if we heard something about a new Zelda handheld, as well… You know; Nintendo always likes to release titles that they know will be popular along with a system release (i.e. Twilight Princess with the Wii, etc.).

Zelda Wii: The Prophet of LightThe Legend of Zelda: The Prophet of Light LogoWell, it seems as though we may know the title for the upcoming Zelda Wii game. Our friends over at Zelda Informer have just made a nice, little news post in which the name ‘The Legend of Zelda: The Prophet of Light‘ was announced. We can’t confirm that this is true, but it seems to be quite likely, as we’re so close to E3. My guess is that Nintendo intentionally leaked it, in order to build up the hype for the upcoming conference.

Regardless of whether or not this is the correct title, Nintendo has done a very nice job of keeping any unwanted information from surfacing so far. Let’s keep looking forward to the upcoming (and likely historic) E3 event.
