Tingle Working AwayJust a “Wii” (sic/pun) bit of news for you all…

As it turns out, we have been able to confirm the development of the work-in-progress (WIP) title known as Kakashi: The Search for Tingle

Yes, we know that this [image] isn’t really “proof”, but if it was a hoax on our part -as some are claiming-, does anyone really think we’d go that far?

The answer is… ‘yes’. As it would happen to be, Vanpool is not the company behind the development of this game, but Zelda in my Pocket is. Yes, that’s right; this entire charade was in fact an advertising campaign for ZimP’s upcoming Nintendo DS fan-made title, Kakashi: The Search for Tingle. This was done solely by our team; there were no other people or websites involved with the planning or execution.

Behind the scenes, our staff members have been slaving away in order to get this game moving. I, Alter, on behalf of Zelda in my Pocket would like to personally thank them for their hard work, as well as for helping our site pull off what has arguably been the largest-scale practical joke since the fake Zelda movie that IGN produced back in 2006. 1, 2

We’ll continue to update all of you on our new game, and are hoping that you enjoyed the numerous debates over this topic. Thanks again for visiting Zelda in my Pocket! And Remember; It’s a mini adventure!

:D That's because it was on a need-to-know basis, and seeing as you weren't part of the dev. team, you didn't "need to know". ;)

  4. Erimgard says:

    Heh.

After all the uproar over being "picked on". Very mature.

  5. ... says:

Aww, just think about all the spam mail you've caused Vanpool now…

  6. Neo says:

Then maybe they'll think about making a legit public version :P

  7. AlterStevens says:

Actually, Neo has a point. Vanpool will be far more likely to keep producing their games (and possibly bring them stateside) if a community that wants more begins to develop.

  8. Neo says:

And Erimgard, where did anyone whine about being picked on? I really don't recall any of the staff saying anything.

  9. Erimgard says:

Can't comment on who is or isn't staff, but when Nathan of ZI posted an article stating that he was skeptical that this was a legitimate Vanpool project, there were some people saying that ZI "picks on" small sites like Zelda in my Pocket and others.

And I doubt this will sway Vanpool. After all, Nintendo still hasn't released Mother One (Earthbound Zero) in any form despite the fact that it's the most requested VC game.

  10. AlterStevens says:

Nintendo and Vanpool are different. The reason that the series hasn't been brought here is because Tingle's assumed unpopularity. I'm aware of those comments left on Zelda informer, and can assure you that those aren't any of our staff members.
